I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream. Oh how I love ice cream! Well I took a visit to the infamous Kremo in Duluth, Georgia. I’d just left Juicy Crab (which is another blog post), when I decided to stop into Kremo. As if I wasn’t already wobbling from being stuffed with crabmeat, I figured ice cream would be a good way to end the night. I dropped in around 9:00 PM on a rainy day, certain that everyone else would be in bed. Well I was extremely wrong. This place had a line almost to the door, full of eager customers. I waited patiently before reaching the front only to realize that I had no idea what I wanted (don’t you hate when that happens). After a long internal debate, I decided on the Banana & Nuts.

The process of how the ice cream is made was incredibly entertaining to watch. Kremo is advertised as a locally sourced, freshly made gourmet ice cream roll. So you’re probably thinking what is an ice cream roll, well let me give you a little background. Ice cream rolls were mainly popular in Thailand and have recently made an appearance in America. To “roll” ice cream, custard is poured onto a ice cold plate where the mixture is flattened, rolled and placed into a cup/cone with toppings. Pretty cool huh?!
Side note: According to Kremo’s Instagram page they recently introduced a new ice cream roll served in a soft dough bun! That is next on my must try list.
Seriously, if you’re looking for a unique experience with one of your favorite pastimes check out Kremo and embrace the experience.
